Hello Gabe here. For several years during study as a youth and during study at Berklee College Of Music. I was in my early 20's and a bit crazy 🤪 I of course wanted to be a rock star and of course had my off the wall dreams. In 2008, I was given a position to MD for Matt Davenport Production/Live On Stage. And before I left for last leg of "On Broadway" tour I stopped at Centenary University and met Michael Blevins, sight read "Cabaret" for him, and he was impressed and said see you when you get back from tour. We'll have a week to put George M. And Cabaret together. Then I found out Blevins was Marc Anthony in the 1985 MGM film "A Chorus Line" with Michael Douglas. So here goes my crash course in Broadway and musicals and ended up co-directing over 30 productions with Blevins. While spending 4 years with Blevins I orchestrated his original musical "Count To Ten" which appeared at 2009 New York Music Festival. What an honor. During my time at Centenary I ended up coaching many voices including Brian Falduto "Fancy Pants" from Jack Black's "School Of Rock". Yes one of the real genuine movie actors was my vocal student for 3-4 years. Anthony Zas who played the role of Elmer in 2017's "Newsies" was also a vocal student of mine from age 8-12. This was an interesting time because between production season I would go be a pianist and MD for Princess Cruise Lines and Holland America Cruise Lines. Another final cool mention I had the opportunity to play piano for and direct Adrian Zmeds hour long show 2 times each cruise cycle. (TJ Hooker, Bachelor Party,Grease 2). The elders really respected my work and reputation as a sight reading pianist and vocal coach. All of this was not in the plans but sure close enough.
